For the past 40 years, Actors’ Theater For Children has been dedicated to bringing low cost, high quality live theater to the children of Sonoma County.  Founded in 1971 by Walter and Diane McGauley, ATFC has performed 80 shows as part of their regular season.

This adult community theater company is one of the longest consecutively running theater groups in Sonoma County, and has delighted generations of young audiences with their interpretations of classic children’s literature, folklore, and mythology.

ATFC is a non-profit company that is comprised entirely of volunteers.  It is written into the company’s bylaws that no position within the organization may be paid. That means every penny that is either donated or raised goes directly into funding further productions for the children of Sonoma County.

Actors’ Theater For Children is honored to have helped expand the imagination of thousands of young minds through the magic of live theater. With the help of our volunteers and the financial contributions of local businesses and individual sponsors, we look forward to continuing to provide our services for many years to come. 

Mission Statement

The specific and primary purpose is to develop an open volunteer community children’s theater organization, performing at a professional level for the young audience. Further, to develop an appreciation for the theater arts among the children of Sonoma County through this craft, for they are the real hope of future theater artists and audiences.
